At one point in his life, Sven had realized that he was too cold and intimidating and unapproachable and it made his work even harder—it took him a year and a half to master man-handling social interaction. He never lost his sternness but by the time he was finished everyone thought the prince had changed his attitude entirely. Only his father knew how much every minute of it wore him out.
He cares for his people more than anything, despite his personality and superficial air he unconsciously shows it very well.
He had the royal crown and scepter melted down, sold the gold and gems and gave the money to nearby peasant villages as anonymous donations. He confessed it to his father to make sure he surmised no thefts. Sven was whipped for half an hour, staying silent until the end.
His father wanted his scars—the ones that spelled ‘ROYAL’—healed and removed. Sven insisted on keeping them and threatened to carve them out again himself if he was asked any more of the matter.
There are only four people in the world whom he hates—his mother and father, his siblings Oszden and Portia. The one thing he hates most was the fact that the Third World War ever happened.
Oszden and Portia fear Sven more than they do their own father. Once, Sven had knocked out two of Oszden’s teeth and broken his nose for slapping and yelling at a kitchen girl whom he’d gotten with child. He had also sheared off Portia’s beloved hair for mocking and mistreating her servants. He told ay them both only one thing:”Treat people right.”
He learned fighting and weaponry from his surrogate father—a former member of the royal guard elite before he was falsely accused of murder, stripped of all titles and riches which landed him in the lowest class. He trained with the twins Axel and Marja—Sven was the better fighter but they had been far better hunters than him.
Sven had originally planned to renounce his claim to the throne to become a doctor and a zoologist.
Sven’s surrogate family at first treated him with disdain and indifference, however upon getting to know one another better they had grown relatively closer after a year.
Sven is a heavy drinker—so are the rest of his family except Lena, which they did for their enjoyment and to fend off the cold. He was still an occasional drinker upon entering the palace, and every 27th of November he drunk himself into stupor to commemorate his family’s death.
His favorite drinks include Russian vodka and locally brewed Norwegian whiskey, his favorite foods meanwhile are roasted meats and dark chocolate.
